Details Labor & Delivery unit within a Trauma Level II acute care hospital High-risk antepartum, labor and delivery, and mother/baby patient population Facility performs 200-300 births per month Patient ratios of 1:1-2 in L&D and 1:3 in Antepartum Performs high-risk delivery support, amnioinfusion, C-section circulating/scrubbing, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management Manages medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips Provides antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care including NST/OCT, fundal checks, and newborn assessments Utilizes external and internal fetal monitoring, including IUPC placement and calibration Epic EMR experience required Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30) Weekend rotation required with no on-call responsibilities Requirements Active CA RN license required Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required C-EFM certification preferred 2 years of high-risk L&D experience required Prior travel experience required Epic charting system experience required Must pass on-site EKG testing with a minimum score of 80% Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products Experience maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC) preferred 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required Additional Information Delivers holistic, individualized nursing care incorporating psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors Coordinates plans of care and communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare teams Assists with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and complex obstetric procedures such as D&C and tubal ligation Supports pain management including epidural anesthesia, IV conscious sedation, and PCA use Provides newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and infant identification Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler Local candidates accepted at the local rate within a 50-mile radius First-time travelers may be considered for this role American Traveler Job ID P-748095.
