Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Plattsburgh, NY

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Shifts available: 7p-7a, 11a-11p, and rotating based on unit needs.

Job Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) will provide high-quality care to a diverse patient population, including both adult and pediatric cases. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and triage patients as needed.
• Administer medications and manage intravenous therapy.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to create patient-centered care plans.
• Monitor and record vital signs and patient progress.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans and health management.
• Manage high patient volumes efficiently while maintaining quality care standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in the Emergency Department.
• Valid New York RN license or proof of application.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale (must be completed prior to starting).
• Experience with EPIC documentation system within the past two years is mandatory.
