Process Engineer

Responsibilities:

• The Process Engineer will perform standard engineering assignments that are a significant portion of larger projects.
• Develop, evaluate, calculate, and design modifications to existing chemical processes.
• Participate as a team member in capital project development by providing process design information.
• Develop alternatives and recommend solutions to equipment and process issues.
• Assist R&D or Senior Engineers with trial development and participate in plant trials as a team member.
• Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, suppliers, and technical personnel.
• Participate in defining engineering approaches and in planning and scheduling work.
• Apply a basic understanding of maintenance practices to assist in troubleshooting and improving equipment performance and reliability with limited support.

Requirements

• The Process Engineer will have a BS degree with an engineering major (chemical preferred) and 1-3 years of experience as a process engineer or in a similar engineering position in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of various unit operations, including chemical reactors, distillation, heat transfer, evaporation, drying, milling, filtration, pumping, fluid flow, material handling, and support services in a batch chemical manufacturing plant.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve results both individually and as part of a team.
• Ability to apply engineering principles and knowledge to solve problems using creative solutions.
• Experience in leading the development, evaluation, and design of new or existing chemical processes.
