This work includes designing systems that store structured knowledge, expose it through APIs, and enable downstream tools—including AI assistants—to retrieve reliable context.Your Success ProfileWhat You Will Work OnDesign and build the foundational infrastructure that enables structured knowledge to be stored, versioned, and retrieved across the organizationPartner with Content Design, Product, and Engineering teams to translate knowledge architecture (taxonomy, content models, decision tables, and policy relationships) into technical systemsStand up and configure a headless CMS platform that implements the organization’s knowledge operating model, translating content models, taxonomy, and governance structures defined by Content Design into scalable technical systemsDevelop APIs and services that expose structured knowledge to internal tools, AI assistants, and future product experiencesBuild and maintain integrations between knowledge storage systems and AI tooling, including retrieval pipelines and experimentation with RAG-based architecturesPrototype using lightweight tooling (e.g., Git-based content repositories, markdown workflows, and developer-friendly authoring environments)Collaborate with engineers and designers to identify opportunities where structured knowledge can improve product development workflows and AI capabilitiesEvaluate and recommend technology approaches for knowledge storage and delivery (e.g., headless CMS platforms, structured content repositories, search infrastructure)Establish scalable patterns for content versioning, governance workflows, and structured metadata managementWork with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the system supports internal enablement needs such as SOPs, policies, decision trees, and operational guidanceContinuously iterate on the architecture as the organization’s knowledge systems mature and new use cases emergeHow You Will Do Your WorkAs a Senior Engineer working on foundational systems, how results are achieved is paramount for your success and ultimately for our success as an organization.In this role, your foundational knowledge, skills, abilities and personal attributes are anchored in the following competencies:Systems thinking – the ability to understand complex systems and design infrastructure that supports multiple teams, workflows, and downstream consumers.Good judgment – exercising critical thinking when evaluating architectural decisions, balancing long-term platform goals with pragmatic iteration.Resourcefulness – taking a pragmatic, experimental approach to building early versions of systems while designing for future scalability.Teamwork and communication – collaborating closely with engineers, content designers, and non-technical stakeholders to translate business knowledge into technical systems.Curiosity and technical exploration – staying engaged with emerging approaches to knowledge infrastructure, AI tooling, retrieval systems, and structured content architectures.Skills and knowledge – the capacity to actively learn and apply new technologies and architectural patterns that improve how knowledge flows across the organization.In addition, all Justworkers focus on aligning their behaviors to our core values known as COGIS.
