Position: Research Biologist
Duties:
- Lead internal research projects and contribute to agency-funded University research.
- Provide oversight of statewide standardized sampling programs and support biologists in district offices.
- Analyze and interpret biological and environmental data.
- Manage databases and analytical programs.
- Write technical reports and peer‑reviewed publications and present information at scientific meetings.
Location: Inland Fisheries Research Unit stationed at Hebron State Fish Hatchery, Hebron, OH

Position: District Management Biologist
Duties:
- Conduct and oversee field surveys of fisheries and aquatic communities.
- Contribute to statewide fisheries assessment and research initiatives.
- Design, coordinate, and oversee fisheries and angler access projects.
- Communicate technical and scientific information to the public and stakeholders; prepare news releases and articles.
- Provide presentations and media responses; represent the division on professional committees.

Qualifications
Completion of undergraduate core program in fisheries science and 24 months of training or 24 months of experience in management and coordination of fisheries projects; OR completion of graduate core program in biological sciences to include 6 courses in fisheries science and 2 courses in statistics with 6 months of training or 6 months of experience in management and coordination of fisheries projects; OR completion of graduate core program in fisheries science with 6 months of training or 6 months of experience in management and coordination of fisheries projects; OR 24 months of training or 24 months of experience as Fisheries Biologist 1 (job code 22271).
Pay and Benefits: Starting hourly pay of $28.76/hr with multiple pay increases over the first 5.5 years of service, ending at $38.01/hr with full benefits.
