About Universal Metrics, LLC (UMI)
At UMI, we’re focused on all of our stakeholders—customers (Fortune 500 companies), suppliers, business partners, and yes...employees. Our production environment is temperature-controlled year-round. The majority of employee work schedules at UMI, both office and production/warehouse, consist of four 10-hour days, Monday–Thursday, with optional three-day weekends or Friday overtime. When Wisconsin weather turns nice, the management team grills burgers for lunch for all employees each month. Ninety days without a Lost Time Injury results in free pizza for everyone in the company, and we also provide Thanksgiving and Christmas lunches for all employees.

What You'll Do

Fabricate and assemble metal components using blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
Use plasma cutters, soldering equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
Safely rig and move materials using cranes or forklifts, as applicable.
Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Work closely with the team to complete projects efficiently and accurately.

What You'll Bring

2+ years of experience as a welder, fitter, or in a similar manufacturing role.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with MIG, TIG, and stick welding and plasma cutting.
Proficiency with hand and power tools; rigging, crane, or forklift experience is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good attendance and reliability are essential.
