Title:  Behavioral Health Training and Internship Supervisor

Status:  Exempt, Full-time 

Schedule:   Mon-Fri, 40 hours per week  

Supervisor: Vice President for Behavioral Health

Salary: $75,000-$80,000  annually based on experience  

Location: Poughkeepsie, NY with occasional travel to all sites throughout Dutchess and Ulster Counties as needed.

Function:  The Supervisor of Behavioral Health Training and Internships provides oversight and delivery of clinical onboarding and trainings, job aids, and professional development needs, and serves as the supervisor for clinical interns as well as the main point of contact for all Behavioral Health interns. This position works closely with Behavioral Health leadership and agency administration to assess clinical learning needs, guide the design and development of training modules, and implement and evaluate training solutions. The Supervisor of Behavioral Health Training and Internships also develops and strengthens relationships with higher learning partners to recruit interns and aide in the development of the school-to-hire talent pipeline. The Supervisor promotes consistency in clinical practice and workforce development across all Behavioral Health centers, and coordinates the internship experience from start to finish, supporting successful interns into employment opportunities within the agency.

Qualifications:

• Current licensure as an LMSW or LCSW
• LMSW must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in clinical training and/or supervision post licensure

Position Responsibilities:  

Training and Onboarding

• Assesses training and development needs through training session and module evaluations, surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with Behavioral Health leadership and Human Resources
• Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) and Behavioral Health leadership in the development and delivery of clinical training
• Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for Behavioral Health clinical staff and interns, updating materials as needed based on course evaluation, student and supervisor feedback, organizational needs, and emerging best practices
• Coordinates the clinical onboarding process for newly hired Behavioral Health clinicians, including required training, clinical workflows, EHR navigation, and documentation expectations
• Creates and/or acquires training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials
• Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, remote lecture, simulations, on-demand e-learning modules, and videos

Internship Coordination and Supervision

• Serves as the primary liaison with schools regarding behavioral health internship placements, field education requirements, student performance, and placement concerns. Collaborates with HR to facilitate execution of affiliation agreements
• Develops and maintains relationships with colleges and universities to expand the internship pipeline .
• Recruits, interviews, selects, and onboards clinical interns with the objective of hiring interns as Clinicians once graduated and licensed
• Develops clinical intern learning agreements that meet the individual needs of the intern as well as specific school requirements
• Provides training and weekly supervision to clinical interns that is consistent with their discipline, scope of practice, and school requirements
• Monitors clinical interns progress and performance, provides ongoing feedback, completes school-required evaluations and documentation, and addresses performance concerns in collaboration with school representatives, Behavioral Health leadership, and HR
• Other Duties as Assigned

Essential Requirements:

• Clinical experience providing behavioral health services
• Experience with training Clinicians
• Professional training in trauma informed care or equivalent experience. 
• Ability to work a flexible schedule. 
• Completed SIFI or meets eligibility requirements to obtain SIFI within a reasonable timeframe from start date
• Knowledge of vicarious trauma preferred
