Examples include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes. Work requires understanding interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing circuit analyses, calculating waveforms, installing wiring in aircraft for T2 Modifications, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. The position may provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians and may be assigned responsibility for a system isolated from the direct higher-level supervisor. GENERAL DUTIES The Electronics Technician will be working specifically with the TSPI Pod Support government technicians at their back shop located on main base. Perform/configure CRIIS & ARDS pods: configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, functional checkout and data recovery for test mission support. Maintain/configure/collect data for CRIIS and ARDS pods. Provide flight line support for CRIIS/ARDS preflight and post-flight at Eglin, Tyndall and TDY test locations. Perform custodian duties of CRIIS/ARDS assets and resources in RAMPOD. Functional check and maintenance for CRIIS/ARDS instrumentation systems to measure and record test parameters. Evaluate installed instrumentation against test objectives and environmental conditions to determine if equipment meets specifications for scheduled missions. Provide mission support including electrical wiring fabrication/modification for test program instrumentation requirements. Other Duties : Other functions include assisting in the orientation and training of other technicians, handling hazardous material/waste where directed by the government supervisor, and general duties such as housekeeping and tool control. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Must be a technical or service school graduate in electronics and have five years' experience as an Electronic Technician. Must possess general knowledge of electronic component characteristics and related skills. OTHER REQUIREMENTS : May require TDY travel and overtime; ability to obtain flight line access and driving privileges. Aircraft electrical maintenance experience and knowledge required. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. WORK ENVIRONMENT : May involve work in controlled environments and outside conditions depending on assignment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Climb, bend, stoop, lift up to 70 pounds, and other physical activities as required.
