This Technical Sales Representative/Sales Engineer role will require a versatile person who sells, supports, and coordinates. Not a pure closer, not a pure account manager.

The hired will be responsible to open new plants, absorb the light procurement duties and learn the business well enough to interact in front of a maintenance manager.

This position represents is the seed of a rapidly developing department. As headcount grows, the role will split into new business, account growth, and inside support.

The right person who can carry all three now will be given the opportunity to lead one of these areas as the company grows!

Responsibilities:

Willingness and comfort walking into an active plant. Boots, hard hat, safety glasses, no complaints.

"Bonding with the customer happens on the floor, not in a conference room"

Must be able to effectively handle operational personalities.

"The customer base is blue collar and can be blunt and direct"

Must possess a reasonable technical aptitude.

"They do not need an engineering degree, but need to be familiar with how a motor, drive or PLC works"

The hired candidate will need to pick up the lingo fast or customers will not respond.

The ideal profile includes someone who is a problem-solver

"Someone who gains satisfaction from fixing existing customer problems"

A Strong familiarity across Engineering disciplines is required for this role

Familiarity with Basic procurement and support is highly preferred.

Basic Procurement example:

"They can read a tag, work a vendor portal, chase an order, and

keep a project moving"

Duties:

Open new plants. Work and develop the existing accounts-Many many opportunities exist here!

Run structured discovery.

Handle light procurement.

Track and expedite orders.

Light project coordination — not engineering project management.

Required Skills:

Previous Engineering Background with Automation experience preferred

Experience working and selling in a blue collar, Plant/ based sales environment

Complete comfort level with working in boots, hard hat, safety glasses and regularly being on customer worksites.

Familiarity with PLC's, Motors, Drives, maintenance and technical equipment

Previous sales experience in the Gas/oil, Engineering, Automation areas combined with technical maintenance familiarity would be ideal.

Location: Tri state area (Pa, Ohio, West Virginia)

Commission: Ability to DOUBLE SALARY with reasonable success
