About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years ICU experience License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: General ICU skillset including ventilator management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and management of invasive lines Description: The facility is licensed for 457 beds. It is a Level 3 Trauma center and a Stroke Center of Excellence. The unit has 40 beds with an average census of 40 patients. Patient types include ventilated patients, stroke and thrombectomy patients, BiPAPs, overdose patients, and trauma cases. Patient ratios are 1:1-3 for registered nurses. Support within the department includes certified nursing assistants to assist with daily activities. There is a charge nurse available 24/7. Phlebotomy will be managed by a designated RN. Respiratory therapy is available around the clock. Hospitalists and intensivists are also on staff 24/7. Telemetry monitoring includes hardwire monitors and travel tele boxes. Floating may occur within the region and scope of practice as needed. Weekend rotation is every other weekend with no call requirements. Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off can be approved for up to 6 days, excluding holidays. Scrub color is navy. Teamwork is emphasized on both day and night shifts.
