Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care in a Stepdown/Med Surg unit, managing complex patient conditions with a focus on respiratory issues, infections, and acute kidney injuries. This role requires clinical expertise in titrating drips and monitoring sophisticated equipment to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to stepdown and medical-surgical patients, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Titrate and manage titratable IV medications such as Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone.
• Monitor patient vital signs, ECG strips, and ventilator parameters using RT equipment and telemetry.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including charge nurses and house supervisors, to coordinate patient care.
• Complete unit-specific orientation and maintain documentation for compliance and quality assurance.
• Adhere to shift, weekend, and holiday schedules, including rotating shifts and EVE or DAY shifts.

Qualifications:

• Valid and unexpired RN license required.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent stepdown or med-surgical experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Proficient in titrating and managing drips such as Heparin and Insulin.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret telemetry strips and operate RT equipment.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
