Surgical Technician

JOB SUMMARY Seeking a certified Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technician to provide high-quality patient care within a Level II Trauma Center. This role involves assisting cardiac surgeons during cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities Assist cardiovascular surgeons during open-heart surgeries and other cardiovascular procedures. Prepare and maintain the sterile surgical field, instruments, and equipment. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide instruments and supplies as required. Operate and maintain specialized equipment used in cardiac surgery, such as heart-lung machines. Ensure proper functioning and availability of all necessary surgical supplies and equipment. Maintain a sterile environment according to established protocols. Adhere to all infection control policies and procedures. Schedule / Shift On-call rotation required for nights, weekends, and holidays. Weekend coverage is not mandated. Block schedules are not expected. Required Qualifications Must possess a minimum of two (2) consecutive years of experience in cardiovascular surgery. Proven experience in Cardiothoracic and Vascular procedures is mandatory. Certifications NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) certification is required. Experience 2+ years of consecutive experience in Cardiovascular Surgery. Experience in Cardiothoracic & Vascular procedures. Skills Proficient in assisting with open-heart surgeries. Skilled in managing and preparing surgical instruments and equipment for cardiac procedures. Ability to anticipate surgeon's needs during complex procedures. Knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control. Patient Population Adult patients undergoing cardiovascular and thoracic surgical interventions. Unit / Specialty Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Floating / On-Call Floating between units is not expected. On-call is required for nights, weekends, and holidays. #J-18808-Ljbffr
