Job Details Onsite Location: Scottsdale, AZ Compensation: $200,000 to $240,000 annually Workplace Location: Fully Onsite Position Summary As Assistant General Counsel you will be responsible for managing a wide range of transactions and projects. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will provide legal guidance in a number of diverse areas, including commercial contracts, marketing, intellectual property registration and protection. You will take a business-oriented approach to preventing and solving problems, while ensuring compliance and mitigating risk. This position will report to the Chief Legal Officer. Objective Negotiate, draft, and interpret commercial contracts with minimal supervision, including for the Company's products and services, sales terms and terms of use, vendor agreements, technology and SaaS agreements, and the Company's Contract Playbook Partner with the marketing team to develop and maintain compliance, including with trademark guidelines and claims substantiation standards Develop comprehensive strategies to protect and manage the Company's internal and acquired intellectual property portfolios, especially trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets Assist with IP-related and other due diligence during mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions to identify risks and opportunities Partner with Technology & Finance to identify existing IP assets and to determine their value Creation and maintenance of an IP asset register Keep abreast of the latest changes in these areas, and advise clients on potential impacts to their businesses Supervise outside counsel where appropriate, ensuring quality, value, and timely delivery Competencies Solid understanding of marketing and advertising compliance regimes, intellectual property and trade secret protection strategies, including the ability to interpret, apply, and communicate them to clients in a solution-oriented manner Ability to identify and protect trade secret Highly effective written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative approach, and ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-lawyers Experience managing growing IP portfolios and ensuring protection through renewals, filings, and enforcement action Willingness and ability to grow into other areas of legal acumen, including corporate, real estate, employment, and compliance Ability to grasp the big picture, while connecting dots and attending to detail Education and Experience Proficient in Thomson Reuters suite including High Q for matter management, document organization, and administrative workflow; experience maintaining and updating legal databases, trackers, and internal porta Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and strong academic credentials Good standing in a U.S. state bar, with ability to be licensed in Arizona as corporate counsel or as a full member of the b Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in negotiating and structuring commercial agreements, supporting marketing teams, and protecting and clearing intellectual property rig Experience in a fast-growing company, and with digital and social media rights, is a plus 10X Total Rewards Medical, dental, and vision (employee + dependents) 401(k) with up to 3% company match Parental leave: 8 weeks fully paid (primary caregiver) / 4 weeks fully paid (secondary) + 1 month remote for both Vacation and sick time that increases with tenure Gym membership, 100% paid Meal prep service discounts Pet insurance through SPOT Employee Assistance Program through Guardian Professional development reimbursements for outside courses and certifications 10X Mentorship Program $250K+ in internal education resources across Sales, Operations, Finance, People, and Marketing Uncapped commission eligibility for all team members Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a comp Commitment to Diversity As an equal opportunity employer committed to meeting the needs of a multigenerational and multicultural workforce, Cardone Ventures recognizes that a diverse staff, reflective of our community, is an integral and welcome part of a successful and ethical business.
