Job Description
This role focuses on concrete work for commercial construction projects, including forming and pouring footings, walls, and flatwork for new buildings. You will work with rebar and post-tensioning systems to reinforce concrete and ensure structures meet quality and safety standards. The position involves hands-on work outdoors on active construction sites and requires travel to various project locations.
Responsibilities
- Form and pour concrete footings, walls, and flat slabs for new commercial construction projects.
- Set up and strip concrete forms, including systems such as Simons or similar formwork, to achieve accurate dimensions and finishes.
- Place, tie, and secure rebar and other reinforcing steel according to project specifications and drawings.
- Assist with post-tensioning operations to reinforce concrete structures as required by the project.
- Finish concrete surfaces to specified textures and tolerances, including troweling, edging, and smoothing.
- Prepare work areas by cleaning, leveling, and setting up forms, tools, and materials before concrete placement.
- Work as part of a concrete crew to complete tasks safely, efficiently, and in coordination with other trades on site.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working in active construction environments.
- Travel to different job sites, sometimes up to 1.5 hours away, based on project needs and schedules.
- Adapt to varying project schedules and requirements, including changes in daily start and end times.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of concrete experience on commercial or residential properties, validated by references.
- Hands-on experience with forming and pouring concrete footings, walls, and flatwork.
- Ability to work with reinforcing materials such as rebar and post-tensioning systems.
- Experience on active construction sites, particularly in commercial construction environments.
- Reliable transportation to travel to job sites, including locations up to 1.5 hours away.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and temperature extremes.
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and wearing required personal protective equipment.

Work Environment
This is an outdoor, field-based role on active commercial construction sites. You will work in all weather conditions and temperature ranges, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. Typical hours can range from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., depending on project demands, with an emphasis on a Monday–Friday schedule when possible. Crew sizes vary by project, but the concrete team is currently a small group of approximately 5–8 people, working within a larger general contractor environment. You will use standard concrete tools and equipment as required for forming, pouring, and finishing work. The dress code includes jobsite-appropriate attire with mandatory personal protective equipment: leather boots that cover the ankle, safety glasses, a hard hat, and high-visibility clothing.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
