Heavy-Highway Civil Construction Estimator

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. Candidate must have at least three years of experience in the civil construction industry. In-Person interview required.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for. This role requires a strong understanding of civil construction processes, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Construction Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and vendors to deliver precise and competitive bids.

Duties

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for construction projects.
• Utilize estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create detailed cost estimates.
• Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
• Collaborate with project management teams to ensure alignment on project scope and budget constraints.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing and terms.
• Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and implement cost control measures as needed.
• Prepare detailed reports outlining estimates, budgets, and any changes in project scope or costs.

Experience

• Proven experience in civil construction estimating or a related field is essential.
• Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
• Familiarity with contracts and pricing strategies specific to the construction industry.
• Demonstrated ability in negotiation skills to achieve favorable outcomes for the company.
• Previous experience working on construction sites is an asset, providing practical insight into estimating processes.
• Proficiency in using relevant software tools such as Bluebeam, HeavyBid, AgTek, Trimble TBC and Microsoft programs is required.
