Job Details

• Position involves performing echocardiograms to evaluate heart muscle and functions, creating detailed images of cardiac chambers, valves, and vessels.
• Sets up ultrasound equipment, attaches electrodes to patients, verifies wave signals, records images, and documents cardiac data and measurements.
• Prepares patients by positioning, applying gels, and providing instructions to ensure optimal imaging.
• Conducts echocardiography on treadmill patients as needed to assess heart performance.
• Collaborates with cardiologists by evaluating findings and reporting results.
• Maintains ultrasound equipment, restocks supplies, reviews patient schedules, and manages patient records within appropriate systems.
• Ensures patient confidentiality and maintains job knowledge through ongoing education and professional development.
• Certifications: Currently certified or eligible for certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• Education requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (some certifications may require a Bachelor's).
• Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor.
• Schedule: Evening shifts, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Experience: 0 years minimum required.
