Regional Sales Manager

Job Description This is an exciting B2B Sales Management role, leading a very impactful team of sellers in all stages of their careers. New sales representative development and coaching is a key in this role. This role manages sales, service, and distribution of the organization's solutions/products/services within a specified region or other major geographic area through assigned sales representatives and sales office activities. The objective is to maximize sales volume and profitability for the organization's products and services in the assigned region. Responsibilities Achieve and exceed all region revenue, profit and expense objectives by expanding key strategies and maintaining a high level of performance with current customers, and identifying and developing new opportunities with a focus on the company's Total Print Management objective. Carries out management responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Develops an annual business plan in conjunction with the Vice President‑Sales, detailing sales activities for the sales region and representatives to meet or exceed sales quotas. Uses a consultative selling approach, demonstrates extensive knowledge of each account’s needs and industry, market conditions, pricing and competitive activity. Maintains accurate records of all forecasting, sales, and prospecting activities, including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow‑up activities within assigned territories. Submits all required reports to upper management and corporate in a timely manner. Attracts new sales representatives through successful recruiting strategies. Actively involved in the development of new sales representatives’ sales orientation and training programs. Participates and contributes to the professional development and enhanced knowledge of product and services for sales representatives. Develops and maintains multi‑level relationships within accounts, establishing high‑level contacts, identifying and influencing decision makers. Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. Creates and conducts effective proposal presentations and RFP responses. Assists with the implementation of new products and services within existing and new clients. Proactively establishes and maintains effective working team relationships with direct team members and support departments. Monitors and evaluates changes and developments within accounts, the marketplace, the competition and the industry. Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, or an equivalent number of years of experience in a sales representative, sales supervisor, sales manager, or other relevant area focused on sales and sales management activities. Requires very good understanding of sales and sales management principles, with typically 4+ years of sales management experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; responsible for or assisting in proposal development and presentations to internal and external customers. Demonstrates successful selling abilities, including cold calling, and strong knowledge of products and services related to the printing industry. Good analytical ability to conduct comprehensive customer needs analyses, develop recommendations, overcome objections, and create solutions. Requires ingenuity, resourcefulness and creativity. Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; sets goals and objectives; sets realistic action plans. Takes independent actions and calculated risks; seeks opportunities; offers help when needed. Must have the ability to lead and create an atmosphere where others can perform at an optimal level. Knowledge of all company policies, procedures and principles of business ethics; ensures these are communicated and implemented within the team. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Must have a valid driver’s license. Benefits and Compensation RRD’s current salary range for this role is $105,100 – $169,500 per year. The range may be adjusted based on geographic location and may change in the future. Compensation decisions may vary based on education, skills, experience, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may include participation in a bonus, commission, or incentive program. RRD offers medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, life insurance, and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus parental leave, adoption assistance, tuition assistance, and employer/partner discounts. This role is salary plus bonus. Bonus is based on regional sales performance. All employment offers are contingent upon the successful completion of both a pre‑employment background and drug screen.
