Ambulatory LPN - Family Medicine Clinic Nurse

Overview The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient centered 90% (36 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our UICC Coralville Oakdale Clinic. This position will mainly support our Family Medicine Clinics but could float to other patient specialties, including Pediatrics and Specialty/Outreach Clinics. When specialty care is needed, our family medicine provider connects patients with the appropriate UI Health Care specialist to ensure a seamless experience. Duties Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse. Participates in the development of nursing care plans and implements therapeutic programs for patients. In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel; in more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse. Maintains a current valid driver’s license and complies with the University Driving Policy Standards. Minimum Eligibility Requirements Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing or eligible for a temporary work permit; maintains required continuing education hours to keep certification valid. Basic Cardiac Life Support provider. Special Qualifications / Licenses Driver’s License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly Desired Requirements Demonstrated teamwork and autonomy in all aspects of the role. Strong phlebotomy skills. Desirable Qualifications Previous EPIC experience. Minimum 6 months ambulatory experience. Previous immunization and phlebotomy experience. Compensation Pay Grade: 11 Salary: $44,557.92 – $66,377.52 (at 100% time) Hourly: $21.34 – $31.79 (based on years of experience) Schedule & Location Schedule: Variable hours Monday – Friday between 7:30 am and 5:00 pm. No weekends, on‑call time, or holidays required.
