The University of Miami Department of Facilities has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Shipping And Receiving Clerk 2 (Surplus) to work in Miami, Florida. The Senior Shipping and Receiving Clerk assists junior clerks with activities related to shipping and receiving of materials, finished goods, and internal inventory management to ensure department's order requirements are fully met, while maintaining compliance with all safety, quality, and other applicable requirements for product tracking and trace-ability.

Core Responsibilities:

• Contacts appropriate staff or department to verify order or shipment requirements.
• Schedules outbound shipments, coordinating pickup times with trucking companies to ensure on-time delivery.
• Ensures appropriate paperwork is completed and accompanies each shipment.
• Confirms exceptions and unusual deliveries, and tracks orders back to originator internally to verify.
• Receives and unpacks materials and supplies.
• Reports damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement, and record-keeping purposes.
• Communicates shipment schedule changes tactfully and adjusts shipping forecasts.
• Logs and tracks vendor non-compliances, such as short shipments, incorrect shipments, and early or late shipments.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required

• Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
• Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
