We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to help shape what comes next.This is a front-end role. That means you're not inheriting someone else's design brief — you're the one figuring out what's possible before the brief exists. You'll work at the edge of what's technically feasible, turning ambiguous consumer problems into working prototypes, and working prototypes into product roadmap decisions.What You'll OwnYou'll be embedded in the early-stage innovation phase for Ninja's Corded/Cordless Products product line — the space between "what if?" and "here's proof it works." Your job is to move fast, validate ideas early, and hand off credible, consumer-tested solutions to the development team.In practice, that looks like:Driving the front-end technology and feasibility roadmap for Corded/Cordless Products products, collaborating with engineering, industrial design, brand, and test kitchen teams across the US, UK, and ChinaBuilding proof-of-concept rigs and functional prototypes to stress-test ideas early — before the business invests in full developmentWorking across the full system: mechanical design, sensors, software, batteries, connectivity — you see the whole picture, not just your slice of itCommunicating ideas rapidly through sketching, CAD layouts, 3D models, and physical prototypesRunning design and engineering studies — solo and in teams — with the consumer experience as the north star at every stageMentoring junior engineers and contributing to a team culture that treats failure as signal, not setbackStaying close to IP development, identifying novel and inventive solutions alongside R&DWhat You BringYou're a hands-on engineer who's most energized when the problem is undefined. You have strong mechanical fundamentals, an instinct for electromechanical systems, and enough breadth to hold a real conversation with software and electrical teams. You prototype to learn, not just to present.Required:BS in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a closely related field2–4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or product designHands-on experience designing electromechanical products in a product development environmentProficiency in SolidWorks or CreoExperience with plastic part design, including injection-molded, silicone, and rubber componentsComfortable in the lab: building prototypes, running tests, reporting findings, and determining next stepsStrong communicator — you can sketch an idea on a whiteboard and defend it in an engineering reviewNice to Have:Background in consumer goods or household appliancesExperience designing sheet metal componentsFamiliarity working with IP teams to identify novel or inventive solutionsWhy This Role, Why NowSharkNinja is growing fast and investing heavily in its front-end R&D capability.
