RN - Inpatient Oncology - MGH

Job Summary Mass General Brigham is a not-for-profit health care system committed to patient care, research, teaching, and community service. We are seeking an RN to serve on the 36‑bed adult inpatient Solid Tumor Oncology Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital. The role requires a 36‑hour day/night rotation, including weekends and holidays. The ideal candidate has at least one year of RN experience with a strong interest in oncology and a desire to provide compassionate, patient‑centered care. Responsibilities Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessing patients, and ensuring nursing care is safe, competent, and individualized. Key duties include: Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records. Administer medications, monitor patients for reactions or side effects. Record patients' medical information and vital signs. Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions. Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans. Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions. Delegate tasks to clinical and support staff. Collate with Nursing Director and Patient Care Team to achieve efficient patient outcomes. Provide culturally, spiritually, and ethnically appropriate care. Qualifications Education : Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Licenses & Credentials : Registered Nurse (RN) license (state) required. Experience : 0-1 year of clinical nursing experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Familiarity with practical nursing principles and skills. Knowledge of age‑appropriate care. Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information. Knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients. Work Details Shift : Rotating day/night, 36 hours per week, including weekends and holidays.
