Accounts Receivable (AR) Clerk

Location: Waterloo, IA (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Accounts Receivable (AR) Clerk to support a busy office environment in Waterloo. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with customers while balancing transactional and administrative responsibilities.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Handle high-volume, in-person customer interactions in a fast-paced environment
• Accept and process payments (cash, check, credit card) accurately
• Serve as a “catch-all” resource —assisting customers and directing them to the appropriate department (billing, service setup, etc.)
• Process mail-in payments during slower periods
• Manage inbound calls , assisting with:
• Payment arrangements
• Account extensions
• General account inquiries
• Support disconnect/reconnect payments and related paperwork
• Provide backup support to the credit lead as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Experience in accounts receivable, cash handling, or payment processing preferred
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a high-traffic environment
• Comfortable handling both face-to-face interactions and phone support
