Job Description

Step into an impactful role as a Special Education Teacher, providing essential support for elementary students in a resource setting. This full-time, contract opportunity offers 35 hours per week throughout the entire school year, making a significant difference in the lives of young learners near the Toney, AL area.

What You’ll Need:

Valid Special Education certification (K-6 or PK-3) for Alabama
Experience or strong interest working with elementary-aged students in resource settings
Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Adaptability and creativity in lesson planning and instructional delivery

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction tailored to IEPs and the diverse needs of elementary students in a resource setting
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student goals are met
Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and participate in IEP meetings
Implement evidence-based strategies and classroom management techniques to encourage student success
Provide direct support for students’ academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth
