OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST I. General description: To provide occupational therapy to identified students. Supervises: Certified Occupational Therapy Aide/Assistant (C.O.T.A.) (if applicable) II. Qualifications:
- Current American Occupational Therapy Certification
- Board or National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. certification and Current licensure from the Arizona Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
- Must possess a Valid AZ Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card.
- Must be able to pass a background check upon employment
- Screen and evaluate appropriately referred students within the State and Federal requirements.
- Attend and actively participate in all appropriate Child Study Team (C.S.T.), Section 504, Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (M.E.T.), and Individualized Education Program (I.E.P.) meetings.
- Develop occupational therapy related IEP/504 goals, objectives, and/or benchmarks, including any appropriate accommodations for qualified district students as assigned.
- Complete all State and Federally required paperwork within required timelines.
- Provide individual and group occupational therapy services to students as described in the IEP and 504 Plans.
- Prepare quarterly, or more frequent if needed, progress reports on each assigned student to include in the quarterly grade reporting process.
- Complete all MEDICAD reports and requirements in a timely manner.
- Participate in District training as appropriate.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Director of Special Services.

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
