Assistant Manager I

Job Summary We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. Responsibilities Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day activities. Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns. Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor, maintaining seasonal areas. Perform opening and closing procedures as needed. Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities. Maintain promotional effectiveness of store‑front fixtures and displays. Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits/receipts). Ensure loss prevention and protect and secure all company assets, including store cash. Maintain store areas, including a well‑stocked sales floor and organized stockroom, to company standards. Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure all associates follow company policies and procedures. Help the store manager supervise, train, and develop store associates. Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions. Maintain cleanliness of the store, including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal. Ensure compliance with local licensing requirements for sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives. Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment (preferred). Capable of lifting up to 55 lbs. from floor to shoulder height. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills. Ability to work in a high‑energy team environment. Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills. Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
