Identity & Driver Credential Specialist 1 Explore a world of opportunity with the State of Georgia. The Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Identity and Driver Credential Specialist 1. Job Summary As an Identity and Driver Credential Specialist 1, you will assist Georgia residents by issuing driver and identity credentials, conducting examinations, and operating visual testing equipment. The role involves interacting with a diverse population and ensuring compliance with state laws. Responsibilities Work with citizens to ensure applications, records, and documents are completed accurately. Accompany drivers in vehicles to evaluate compliance with Georgia’s driving laws. Conduct driving examinations for motorcycle and commercial licenses according to state law. Operate visual testing equipment. Accurately collect payments via cash or credit cards. Minimum Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or GED. Valid Georgia Class C or equivalent driver’s license, maintained during employment. At least one year of recent face‑to‑face customer service experience within the last five years. At least one year of recent face‑to‑face experience with cash transactions (daily reconciliation and credit card processing) within the last five years. Comfortable working with computer and internet technology. Preferred Qualifications Three or more years of recent face‑to‑face customer service experience within the last five years. Three or more years of recent face‑to‑face experience with cash transactions within the last five years. Live within 30 miles of the Customer Service Center. Bilingual skillset preferred. Working Conditions Road skill tests are conducted year‑round in various weather conditions. The role requires walking, standing, climbing, bending, lifting, and constant interaction with the public. Conditions of Employment A valid Georgia driver’s license is required and must be maintained. Certain duties may require CCKE, CDL Examiner, or other certifications.
