About the Position

Job Title: MRI Technologist I Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: MRI Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Full-time 4 x 10s Monday through Friday Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of MRI experience License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certifications: American Heart Association BLS Certified, MRI Technician certification Must-Have: - Graduate of a Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation accredited Radiology program or equivalent - Prior MRI experience Description: The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist I provides health care services by assisting in diagnosis or treatment. Performs MRI procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used in the diagnosis and treatment of patient pathologies. Uses knowledge of imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy to create high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists and other medical professionals. Modifies technical settings and adjusts scanning parameters to enhance images and minimize unnecessary exposure. In addition to the essential functions of the job, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per requirements and policy. Performs MRI exams and procedures as requested by medical staff. Assists radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures. Performs ancillary duties as required to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures. Completes documentation of all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams. Retrieves prior images, studies, written orders, and related health information to ensure timely performance and reporting of MRI exams and procedures. Performs routine inspections and maintenance on the scanner and archives imaging data. Participates in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of the hospital quality indicators as described in the strategic plan. Demonstrates sound judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times. Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment with limited supervision. Demonstrates creativity, problem analysis, and decision-making. Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintains confidentiality. Proficient in computer applications, MS Office, EMR, and standard office equipment. Self-directed and completes assignments accurately, thoroughly, and with minimal oversight. This role requires regular and sustained attendance. The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs. The facility reserves the right to cancel three shifts per contract in the event of low census or other unforeseen circumstances.
