LVC Engineering Technician III

Location: Naval Air Station North Island, CA

General Duties:

• Support US Navy training with trouble shooting and maintaining the ground truth feed for Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) exercises and events to include:
• Operate, maintain, and able to troubleshoot system supporting LVC ground truth feeds from Simulation Display Systems (SIMDIS) for exercise control at TTGP.
• Maintain data validation and integrity; diagnosing and repairing faults when applicable; submitting trouble tickets, install and configure SIMDIS hardware and software associated with ground truth feeds.
• Actively compare ground truth and LVC exercise feeds to assess data quality and completeness.
• Interface with TTGP, Network Enterprise Tactical Training Network NETTN) and SCTTR points of contact to troubleshoot issues and correct discrepancies.
• Support exercise control with data feed display, configuration, set up, and legend management.
• Maintain data feed integration into the Common Operational Picture (COP).
• Develop standard operating procedures, data products, and recommendations for software/display configuration changes.

Minimum Education Level:

• High School diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy "C" School or vocational school with formal training in the field of computers, electronics, or training as an Operations Specialist.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

• Four years, electronic/computer systems maintenance in the following areas:
• Experience in naval operations with emphasis on Carrier Strike Group Operations preferred.
• System and Network Information Assurance (IA)
• Familiarity with networking concepts and practices

Minimum Position Specific Training Required:

• Must obtain or have a current Security + certification (Within six months of hire).
