They cannot include and not intended to include every possible activity and task performed by every specific Title: CUSTODIANRange: 11 SUMMARY Performs routine cleaning and custodial functions at an assigned school site or responsibility for general cleanliness of assigned CHARACTERISTICSThis position generally works evenings. The custodian cleans an assigned area performs some simple non-journey level minor maintenance within a building. Day to day supervision is received from the School Site DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. This list is meant to be representative not exhaustive. Some incumbents may not perform all the duties listed while in other cases related duties may also be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential routine custodial functions at an assigned site/plant within the School safety sanitary and fire hazards to appropriate authorities. Sets and takes down gymnasium and/or athletic equipment for classes and classrooms washes scrubs and disinfects restrooms showers locker rooms cafeteria gymnasiums offices and related mops scrubs waxes and polishes rugs and carpets in offices faculty rooms light bulbs and lighting windows and walls. Cleans desks and and arranges furniture books and flag locks and unlocks doors and gates. Sets security minor non-journey level repairs at assigned site. Reports major maintenance needsto appropriate related duties as QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and abilities requiredto satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Knowledge of: Modern cleaning methods materials tools and operation of equipment and materials used in janitorial and custodial record to: Work evenings and nightsCommunicate effectively verbally and in writingOperate heavy floor cleaning equipmentMaintain effective working relationships with other peopleEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge skill and abilities. A typical way to obtain these would be:High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalency Able to read and write sufficient English to follow oral and written directions. Some work experience demonstrating reliability AND CERTIFICATES:A valid Class 3 California drivers license Valid First Aid and CPR certificate may be requiredPHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requirements / Qualifications

Hollister School District is currently seeking personnel to fill on-call substitute custodian positions. Please provide a copy of a high school diploma/transcript or GED and at least two (2) letters of recommendation. Interviews will take place after screening of applicants on an as needed basis.

• Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two (2) letters of recommendation)
• Proof of HS Graduation
