Med Surg Registered Nurse - Night Shift
This is a 13-week contract position.
Night shift: 3 x 11.5 hour shifts per week (7 PM - 7:30 AM) with a 60-minute unpaid lunch break.
The Med Surg Registered Nurse will work in surgical units focused on preparing patients for the OR and helping them return to normal after surgery. The nurse will facilitate patient care until discharge following PACU recovery.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to surgical patients.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and health status post-surgery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care and discharge instructions.
- May float to other medical/surgical units, occasionally assisting in the ED for admitted medicine patients.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience preferred.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Flexibility in scheduling is essential; weekend shifts may be required.
