About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Medical Affairs Strategy in the Oncology Portfolio. This pivotal role involves leading the medical strategy team, providing strategic input into global asset teams, and ensuring medical affairs launch readiness. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of medical affairs strategy and plans across all stages of the oncology portfolio, from early development to product lifecycle. Collaboration with cross-functional leaders in clinical development, commercial, regulatory, and corporate communications is essential. The Executive Director will also be involved in mentoring and developing the medical strategy team, representing medical affairs in publication planning, and leading in the development of scientific materials. Applicants must have a minimum of 15 years of relevant oncology experience, with at least 10 years in medical affairs within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry. A strong background in matrix team leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate medical affairs strategy into actionable plans is required. The ideal candidate will have both US and global medical affairs experience, with a preference for those with breast cancer experience. A growth mindset, proficiency in clinical trial data review, and the ability to travel up to 20% of the time are also necessary. The role demands a leader with excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships, and a proven track record of leadership consistent with the company's values. A medical, PhD, or PharmD degree is mandatory.
