Tool Service Technician

Join United Rentals as a Tool Service Technician (Service Tech III) and use your skills to perform maintenance and repair of complex tools in a safe and professional manner. Responsibilities Perform safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex tools and specialty equipment at branch or customer locations, involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, welding, and hoisting systems. Conduct intermediate-level diagnostics and repairs on tools and systems, utilizing working knowledge of schematics and diagrams. Assist in the training of lower-level technicians as needed. Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed. Travel to customer sites for repair or maintenance of rental or owned equipment when required. Assist in the pickup and delivery of equipment and parts to and from outside vendors and other United Rentals, Inc. locations for purchase and/or repair. Perform other duties assigned as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 3–5 years of experience repairing and maintaining specialty tools. Ownership of applicable tools for the position. Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools. Working knowledge of schematics and diagrams. Working knowledge of specialty tools, manufacturers’ warranty access, and work order/time spent accounting. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to coach and mentor less experienced service technicians. Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills. Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
