Food Runner

Preferred location: Troubadour Golf & Field Club, outside Nashville, TN. We are looking for a Food Runner to join our Food & Beverage Department. The Food Runner will be responsible for picking up and delivering food and beverage items to the appropriate table in a timely manner and for persistently clearing plates, glassware, and silverware throughout service. This role is key to creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and employees. Part‑Time Hourly role. Starting rate $15 per hour plus gratuities. Key Responsibilities Deliver food items to the guest table, ensuring each dish reaches the correct seat. Clear unused items from the table and check water glass levels, refilling as needed. Replace any silverware as needed throughout service. Monitor surrounding areas of the restaurant for items that need to be cleared. Provide a brief explanation of items being delivered and ask if guests need anything else. Assist kitchen staff to ensure dishes are plated correctly, match the ticket description, and are delivered accurately and efficiently, including condiments or sauces. Prepare the runner station for each meal period according to the checklist and consistently restock as needed, keeping the area clean and organized. Be familiar with menu items and prepared to answer guest questions. Understand restaurant policies, procedures, training, safety, and security. Adhere to food safety, cleanliness, and safety standards. Attend all briefings, meetings, and trainings as necessary. Perform any other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. At least three months of experience in a fine‑dining or high‑volume environment at a high‑end restaurant, resort, or private club. Knowledge of HACCP and local food safety standards; ability to possess or obtain a State Food Safety Certificate. Knowledgeable of food and beverage operations. Extraordinary attention to detail, quality, and service. Additional Requirements Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to remain calm and focused during peak times. Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English; additional languages preferred. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods longer than eight hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes over fifty pounds.
