Reports to: Superintendent of Schools and Athletic Director Requirements: Coaching endorsement; coaching authorization required. Coaching experience in specific sport desired. B.A. or B.S. degree with teaching certificate recommended. Performance Responsibilities To instruct individuals in the fundamentals and skills of the activity which are necessary for achievement in the specific sport To organize the program in a manner which best utilizes the skills of the assigned staff and to coordinate all levels of the specific program To plan and schedule a regular program of practice during the season and those optional activities during the off-season which may include physical conditioning To communicate with students, staff, parents, community, and the media in a manner conducive to the total school program To work closely with the Athletic Director in scheduling all contests To establish criteria to assess student performance for eligibility in interscholastic competition To enforce sportsmanship behaviors at all times and implement the guidelines for discipline as provided by the District’s Discipline Policy To recommend purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms to the Athletic Director To support all other school activities To maintain and complete all necessary attendance, inventory records and similar paperwork as required To maintain the safety conditions of the facility or area in which the assigned sport is conducted at all times participants are present To keep abreast of changes in his/her assigned sport by attendance at clinics and workshops and readings in the assigned sport Lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds; typically on feet for several hours Ability to communicate with others Supervise and motivate staff and students Provide initiative for program development Make decisions related to program operations Engage in professional growth Fulfills professional responsibilities established by the school district Term of Employment: See letter of agreement Salary and Benefits: As per negotiated agreement Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluations The Bondurant-Farrar Community School District is an EEO/AA employer.
