Sr. Director of Supply Chain - Major Projects Power Team Location: Houston, TX | Industry: Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Supply Chain Director to lead and integrate all supply chain functions across a portfolio of complex, mega to small scale Power Gas to Market Projects. This is a high-impact, strategic leadership role requiring a business-acclimated professional who can operate at the intersection of procurement, engineering, logistics, material management for job sites and contract management. The ideal candidate brings deep experience with major EPC firms and Project delivery, understands the full project lifecycle, has the executive presence and negotiating acumen to build relationships internally, integrate supporting and delivering Supply Chain needs directly to the Power and Construction Teams while establishing lasting supplier relationships and drive supply chain excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Leadership & Integration
- Lead Major Power Projects in the full supply chain lifecycle for multiple concurrent projects - from business development to contract award to the transition through engineering, procurement, logistics, construction and commissioning execution, delivery, and project closeout.
- Serve as the lead strategic integrator across procurement, materials management, contracts, subcontracts, logistics and construction execution ensuring seamless coordination among all project teams.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and operations teams; able to read, interpret, and engage meaningfully in technical discussions to meet project site materials and equipment need dates.
- Drive continuous improvement in supply chain processes, systems, and performance metrics and share these best practices continually as we expand with full EPC project in the Power market arena.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage complex contracts and subcontracts, including scope definition, commercial terms, and risk allocation.
- Ensure contractual compliance across all vendor and subcontractor relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proactively identify and mitigate contractual risk with a business-minded approach and interfacing with all Project EPC Teams with aligned approaches.
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies aligned with project schedules and company objectives.
- Initiate, negotiate, and finalize frame agreements with key suppliers, targeting pre-negotiated terms and conditions for high-volume engineered equipment (e.g., transformers, switchgear).
- Establish bulk commodity agreements for non-engineered materials (e.g., power cable, structural steel), negotiating favorable pricing and delivery terms.
- Maintain market intelligence and provide regular PSR (Procurement Status Report) surveillance reporting to project leadership.
- Establish and manage QA/QC systems for all procured equipment and materials, from vendor qualification through fabrication, factory acceptance, and site delivery interfacing with all Project EPC Teams with aligned approaches.
- Track and evaluate supplier performance across quality, schedule, and commercial metrics; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure all materials and equipment meet project specifications and company quality standards.
- Manage transportation, customs, and delivery logistics for domestic and international shipments to the job sites.
- Support with providing systems and best practices learned for on-site material receiving, storage, preservation, and inventory control Teams through installation.
- Coordinate with site teams and support with urgency to ensure materials are available when and where needed to support construction execution.
- 15+ years of progressive supply chain, procurement, or materials management experience within large-scale EPC or industrial project environments.
- Demonstrated experience at the Director level or above, with accountability for strategic procurement across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating contracts and subcontracts; strong understanding of commercial terms, risk, and project law fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience establishing frame agreements and commodity agreements with major industrial suppliers.
- Ability to interface credibly with engineering and technical teams; understanding of engineered equipment specifications is essential.
- Experience in power generation, transmission, or energy infrastructure projects is a preferred plus.
- Familiarity with global equipment markets and commodity pricing trends; experience authoring market intelligence and PSR reports.
- Strong proficiency in procurement and ERP systems; data-driven approach to performance management.
