Exciting opportunities are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers to support students across elementary and high school Resource Room settings. These roles focus on serving individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in onsite positions, ensuring every student receives the instructional support they need in a positive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and indirect instructional support, fostering an inclusive classroom for students with disabilities.
• Utilize specialized teaching strategies to develop sensory, perceptual, motor, cognitive, and language skills.
• Teach academic subjects using diverse techniques such as phonics, multisensory instruction, and repetition to address varying learning needs.
• Implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and reinforce socially appropriate behaviors through positive support practices.
• Adapt general education curricula to individual student needs using evidence-based methods and technology.
• Plan and facilitate lessons that incorporate direct instruction, guided practice, and independent learning activities.
• Collaborate consistently with general education teachers, related service staff, administrators, and families to ensure student progress and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (or actively enrolled in a Michigan Department of Education-approved teacher certification program).
• Preferred: Experience teaching in a special education setting or comparable school environment.

These contract roles start on October 26, 2026, and run through June 10, 2027. Based on your placement, you’ll have varied caseloads within elementary or high school Resource Rooms, all located onsite.
