Litigation Paralegal

Scion Staffing is conducting a search for a Litigation Paralegal on behalf of a respected regional, full-service business law firm. This is a direct-hire, hybrid opportunity based in either the firm's Portland, Maine or Manchester, New Hampshire office.



What You'll Do

• Prepare, file, and manage pleadings and other court documents using state and federal electronic filing systems.
• Draft motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, affidavits, notices, certificates of service, and other litigation documents.
• Support attorneys through all phases of litigation, including discovery, eDiscovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial.
• Prepare exhibits, trial binders, deposition materials, and hearing notebooks.
• Conduct title searches and prepare abstracts, lien certificates, and lien discharges.
• Coordinate service of process and assist with case management activities.
• Calculate, calendar, and monitor litigation deadlines in accordance with applicable court rules.
• Maintain organized electronic case files within the firm's document management system.
• Conduct legal and factual research and prepare concise memoranda.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, witnesses, experts, and other parties.
• Provide comprehensive litigation and administrative support to attorneys while managing multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate required.
• Prior experience as a litigation paralegal.
• Experience with state and federal court filing procedures.
• Strong legal research, writing, proofreading, and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet competing deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and sound professional judgment.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Positive, collaborative, and self-directed work style.
• Transactional legal experience is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $35.16-$43.43 per hour, depending on experience.
