Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift What You’ll Do As a Medical Lab Scientist for our Cellular Therapy Lab, you will conduct testing and processing of biological specimens used to treat cancer patients. The specimens provide the biological material for patient transplant of diseased bone marrow, or the creation of patient‑specific vaccines specifically developed to treat a patient's cancer. You will play a vital role in supporting patient care by performing accurate and timely laboratory testing used in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Testing domains include waived, moderate, and high‑complexity procedures. You conduct and document established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products; evaluate the results of quality control testing and implement corrective action according to established protocols to ensure the accuracy and quality of patient testing. You participate in the validation of laboratory methods and procedures to meet the changing health‑care needs of our patients. What You’ll Need For This Job Education (Required) Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science Program Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technologist Bachelor’s Degree in Biology Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry Preferred: ASCP‑certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or equivalent. Other acceptable certifications: ASCP or HEW Previous Experience: 1‑2 years of job‑related experience. Why Loyola Medicine?
