NoEssential FunctionsPerforms specimen collection, accessioning and logging routines.Processes, embeds, and sections tissues for slides.Performs preventive maintenance and quality-control procedures such as oiling and cleaning microtomes according to schedule, recording temperatures on various instruments, changing the processor according to procedure, and changing staining solutions.Ensures aseptic techniques and observes health safety protocols during the cleanup procedure to minimize risks to self and co-workers.Observes hospital and laboratory policies and safety practices and maintains a safe, clean, and prepared work area.QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or Equivalent required or Graduate Certificate Histology preferredCan this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
