CDL Class A Truck Driver

Department: Operations / Logistics

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our manufacturing team. Unlike a traditional trucking operation, our drivers primarily deliver our own manufactured products directly to customers and job sites .

The ideal candidate takes pride in representing the company on the road, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring products arrive safely, accurately, and on time. This position involves local and deliveries, completing required paperwork, and maintaining the assigned truck and trailer. 

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company-owned Class A commercial vehicles and trailers.
• Deliver company-manufactured products to customers, distributors, job sites, and other designated locations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report mechanical or safety concerns promptly.
• Properly load, secure, transport, products in accordance with DOT requirements 
• Verify product quantities and delivery documentation before departing and upon delivery.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service at delivery locations.
• Obtain required delivery signatures and maintain accurate delivery records.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, production, regarding delivery schedules and issues.
• Follow all applicable DOT, FMCSA, state, and company safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean and orderly truck, trailer, and equipment.
• Assist with loading and unloading as required by the product and delivery location.
• Monitor product condition during transportation and report any damage or discrepancies.
• Manage delivery schedules efficiently while prioritizing safety and customer service.
• Complete required vehicle inspection reports, logs, and other transportation documentation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean and acceptable driving record.
• Current DOT medical certification, as required.
• Previous commercial driving experience required
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe cargo securement practices.
• Ability to safely operate and maneuver a tractor-trailer in customer facilities, loading areas, and job sites.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and handle materials as required for deliveries.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete required documentation accurately.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on production and customer delivery requirements.

Physical & Working Requirements

• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing in and around trucks and trailers.
• Ability to enter and exit the cab and trailer multiple times during the workday.
• Ability to safely handle products and delivery equipment appropriate to the position.
• Work may occur outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be comfortable working around manufacturing facilities, warehouses, loading docks, and customer/job-site environments.
