POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Project Accounting Specialist at LJA Business Solutions , you will be responsible for accounting and administrative support for day-to-day activities of Project Managers.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Setting up and maintaining projects
• Invoicing clients on a weekly/monthly basis - lump sum, time & material, % of completion basis
• Preparing spreadsheet invoices to include detailed backup documentation
• Providing project, billing, A/R and other miscellaneous reports as needed
• Assisting Project Managers and Collections group with resolving outstanding AR issues
• Analyzing revenue and job cost
• Monitoring sub-consultants including reviewing contract and insurance certificates to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, track payment status
• Completing accounts payable review and coding, entry as needed
• Archiving documents pertaining to projects and client/sub-consultant contracts
• Working directly with various project managers, administrative support and management
• Working directly with client contacts for billing/receivables
• Assisting with special projects as requested by manager

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Associates degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years of experience in a billing position
• Experience with billing for public/government clients, with good understanding of specified/fixed rates (rate schedules) and multipliers
• Experience with ERP project-based accounting systems (BST, Deltek, Clearview/InFocus, etc.)
• Experience with invoice submittal via client portals
• Able to work effectively both independent and in a team environment
• Must be detail oriented and organized
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines
• Must be self-motivated and strive to produce quality work

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:

• Experience in the Engineering or Construction industry
