As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading complex mechanical engineering projects, providing expert guidance, and ensuring the highest standards of design and performance. You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to strategic planning.Responsibilities:Lead a small team and manage complex mechanical engineering projects.Provide expert guidance on the design and development of mechanical systems.Perform high-level analyses and simulations to ensure optimal performance.Mentor and guide junior engineers on mechanical engineering practices.Prepare and review detailed technical documentation and reports.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.Qualifications You Must Have:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related role.Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.Expert understanding of mechanical design principles and computer-aided design (CAD) software.Understanding of engineering principles and practicesExperience with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teamsBackground in the Aerospace and Defense IndustryAbility to Obtain and maintain United States Secret security clearanceQualifications We Prefer:Master's or PhD in a related field.Experience with technical management of suppliers and supplier dataPrevious experience utilizing 3DExpierence and CATIAExperience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal AnalysisKnowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processesExperience with model based systems engineering (MBSE) tools such as CAMEOKnowledge of environmental requirements for components utilized in aircraft and space applicationsExperience providing technical guidance to a diverse team of engineers on issues related to mechanical engineeringExperience with manufacturing, production, and product support to include disposition of engineering non-conformancesExperience with stakeholder and leadership communicationFamiliarity with FAA, NASA, and/or DoD design and construction regulationsEssential Functions:Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.Occasional travel may be required.Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.Applying systematic and logical problem-solving techniques to develop mechanical designsClearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and managementAbility to understand technical documents, designs and test reports.This posting will be open for application for a minimum of 5 days and may be extended based on business needs.Estimated Starting Salary Range: $124,771.42 - $171,560.71. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
