Software Engineer–Developer (Experienced and Senior)Company:The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer - Developer (Experienced or Senior) to join the B-52J CERP - Flight Software team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.The B-52J CERP program will provide modern engines and related functions for the B-52 Bomber. The Flight Software team is responsible for providing the software that will collect data from these new engines and display it to the pilots in the cockpit. The successful software engineer selected for this position will design, develop and integrate software in an agile, collaborative environment. This software engineer will also design and develop software tools to aid in the development of flight software. In addition to having strong interpersonal skills, the software engineer should be a self-motivated problem solver, capable of resolving technical challenges in a clear and concise manner.Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Senior Level Software Engineers.Position Responsibilities:Designs, develops, tests, and maintains non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standardsReviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into initial design of software productsDevelops, maintains, enhances and optimizes software products and functionalities for systems integrationsDevelops, documents and maintains architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software productsDebugs and resolve issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software productsHandles user inquiries, troubleshoots technical issues and user feedback analysisImplements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software developmentDevelops, establishes, monitors and improves software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarksExecutes and documents software research and development projectsAdvises on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulationsPerforms software project management activities and software supplier management functionsTracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standardsBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):3+ years of experience in ADA, Python3+ years of experience in Real Time Operating System (RTOS), VxWorks, HVP, Wind River3+ years of experience in Building Docker Images, Gitlab, CI/CD Pipeline, VXWorks Workbench, Git, VSCode Devcontainers3+ years of experience in SAFE Agile, GitLabPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.Experience with ADA Programming Language preferred3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge of specification format requirements, guidelines, and change control processesUnderstanding of relationship between specifications/standards and aircraft/product certification systemsKnowledge of host environments, including processors, operating systems and networks.
