Job Description Summary

Is responsible for and accountable for managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment; Is responsible for promoting positive relationships and teamwork among employees and between departments; Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care; Is responsible and accountable for his/her own clinical practice as well as the quality and quantity of nursing care given by nursing personnel; Participates in the Pre-Anesthesia evaluation and education of patients prior to surgery or procedures requiring anesthesia.

Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of a school of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama.

LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally;

• Ability to communicate effectively in an emergency situation.

SKILLS:

• Renders direct and indirect patient care in support of medical care and in accordance with the established standards of care, as well as policies and procedures of Southeast Health;

• Contributes to nursing assessment;

• Contributes to Pre-Surgical evaluation and education of patients prior to surgery or procedures requiring anesthesia;

• Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care;

• Welcomes new employees, participates in orientation, and serves as a role model in a positive effort to orient and develop nursing staff members.
