Job Title: Cleanroom Production Technician Job Description

This role sets up and operates production equipment in a semiconductor cleanroom environment, ensuring accurate handling of wafer lots, precise data entry, and consistent adherence to safety and cleanroom procedures. You will work a full-time, compressed workweek schedule in a 24/7 manufacturing facility, supporting continuous production while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate production equipment according to established production priorities and procedures.

  • Transport and deliver wafer lots throughout a 100,000-square-foot cleanroom, ensuring accurate routing and timely movement of materials.

  • Perform data entry related to production activities, inventory, and workflow tracking with a high level of accuracy.

  • Conduct visual quality control checks on wafers and related materials to identify defects or irregularities.

  • Collaborate with team members to resolve quality issues, production bottlenecks, and productivity challenges.

  • Follow all specified safety procedures, including cleanroom, chemical handling, and wafer handling protocols.

  • Handle materials safely and efficiently, including loading, packing, picking, and inventory control activities.

  • Use material handling equipment and tools such as carts, RF scanners, and other devices as required.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and support shipping and receiving activities as needed.

  • Communicate effectively within the team, including using pass-down notes to ensure smooth shift-to-shift transitions.

  • Keep pace with production demands to support workflow for downstream departments.

  • Walk and stand frequently throughout a 12-hour shift, including climbing stairs and moving between work areas.

  • Lift wafer boxes above shoulder level using both hands and manipulate them carefully using fingers.

  • Push and pull carts with loads up to 25 pounds safely within the cleanroom environment.

  • Adhere strictly to cleanroom dress and conduct requirements at all times while on the production floor.

Essential Skills

  • Proven ability to follow strict written procedures and verbal directions accurately.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively within a team environment, including clear written pass-down notes.

  • Experience in material handling in a warehouse, manufacturing, or similar environment.

  • Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom environment while wearing full cleanroom garments.

  • Capability to keep up with production pace to maintain workflow for other departments.

  • Comfort working in a 24/7 manufacturing facility on a compressed workweek schedule, including weekends.

  • Physical ability to walk and stand frequently throughout a 12-hour shift.

  • Physical ability to walk up and down stairs frequently during the shift.

  • Ability to lift and manipulate wafer boxes above head level using both hands and fine finger movements.

  • Ability to push and pull carts with loads up to 25 pounds safely.

  • Strong attention to detail for data entry and visual quality control tasks.

  • Reliability in attendance and punctuality for fixed 12-hour shifts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a cleanroom or semiconductor manufacturing environment.

  • Background in inventory control, including tracking, counting, and reconciling materials.

  • Experience with shipping and receiving operations, including loading and packing.

  • Familiarity with RF scanners for picking, tracking, and inventory management.

  • Forklift or other material handling equipment experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.

  • Comfort working with chemicals under defined safety and handling procedures.

  • Ability to adapt to changing production priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a semiconductor manufacturing facility with extensive cleanroom operations. All duties take place in a controlled cleanroom environment where you wear full cleanroom garments, including a full-body jumpsuit, safety glasses, nitrile gloves, face mask, hairnet, hood, and cleanroom shoes for the duration of your shift. The cleanroom prohibits the use of personal cell phones, makeup, hairspray, hair gel, perfume, and cologne to maintain contamination control. The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and uses full-time compressed workweek (CWW) schedules that require excellent attendance and punctuality. All shifts require working either Saturday or Sunday. The available CWW shifts include: D1 shift – Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM; N1 shift – Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM with an additional average wage differential; D2 shift – every other Wednesday and then Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM; N2 shift – every other Wednesday and then Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM with an additional average wage differential. Overtime applies after 10 hours worked in a shift. The environment is highly structured, safety-focused, and process-driven, with cleanroom protocols and equipment usage reinforced through procedures and training.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.
