Companion/Sitter

Provide non-physical support services including companionship, supervision, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and transportation. Follows the 'No-Touch' principle: no hands-on personal care. Department Client Services Reports To Administrator FLSA Status Non-Exempt (Hourly) Location Client homes across Georgia Engage in friendly conversation and active listening Read books, newspapers, and mail to clients Play cards, board games, puzzles, and activities Accompany clients on walks and community outings Provide emotional support and friendly presence Household Support Plan and prepare nutritious meals Light housekeeping in areas essential to client health Laundry: wash, dry, fold, and put away clothing Wash dishes and clean kitchen after meals Take out trash and recycling Errands & Transportation Grocery and household shopping Pick up prescriptions from pharmacy Drive client to medical appointments Run approved errands as needed Qualifications Required 18 years or older Ability to read, write, and follow instructions Pass GCHEXS fingerprint background check Valid driver's license (if providing transportation) Honest, reliable, compassionate, and patient Preferred Experience working with elderly or disabled individuals High school diploma or GED CPR/First Aid certification Physical Requirements Lift up to 25 pounds (groceries, laundry) Extended periods of light activity Accompany clients on outings Safe vehicle operation (if applicable) Training Provided Joy Bridge Care orientation program Client rights and dignity training Scope of services and No-Touch principle Home safety and emergency response Infection control and hand hygiene Documentation and reporting procedures Ready to Apply?
