Quality Assurance EngineerWe are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support functional and regression testing for payment systems and point-of-sale applications. This role involves working hands-on with physical devices in a lab environment, executing functional test cases, and ensuring the quality of software and firmware updates. The ideal candidate will be an autonomous, technically savvy individual with experience in retail payment systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute test cases, scenarios, and scripts from business requirements and technical specifications.Perform functional, regression, and unit testing on payment systems, including firmware and software updates on physical devices in a lab setting.Install software/firmware, set up Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, and deploy configurations for testing.Document test results, log defects accurately in tracking tools like Jira, and provide detailed information for reproduction.Author and maintain test plans and test cases using tools such as TestRail and Confluence.Collaborate with developers and analysts throughout the software development lifecycle to support quality assurance activities.Support legacy code and contribute to various facets of the QA process, including mobile order and pay applications.Provide status updates on test planning and execution activities, escalating any issues or risks.Required QualificationsExperience:3 years of work experience in software application development and testing.Experience with retail payment systems (debit/credit) and physical payment devices.Demonstrated experience working autonomously in a lab environment.Experience authoring test plans and creating test cases.Technical Skills:Knowledge of testing methodologies and the software development lifecycle.Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Confluence, TestRail, and Jira.Ability to develop and execute test scripts for manual and automated testing.Understanding of application and system architecture concepts, including Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).Familiarity with cloud computing services (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and mobile digital technologies.Abilities:Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Clear and concise oral and written communication.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.A collaborative team player with effective interpersonal skills.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience with SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) responsibilities.Experience with payment providers such as VeriFone.Knowledge of one or more programming languages used for test script development.
