• Active American Heart Association PALS
• Active Trauma Nursing Core Course TNCC

Must-Have:

• Experience in a Critical Access facility
• EPIC EMR experience

Description: The Emergency Department is fully staffed 24 hours a day by professionals trained in emergency care. The department is equipped to handle routine emergencies as well as complex medical, surgical, and trauma care. It is comprised of a three-bed trauma room and five private exam rooms. The patient population includes all ages. Emergency Nurses must be able to think on their feet and prioritize quickly. They must have the flexibility to continually restructure their time throughout the shift. They must be able to obtain health histories, complete accurate physical assessments, and plan for treatments. Critical thinking and sharp decision-making skills are essential for this role. Good communication skills are imperative. Nurses should be able to deal with unplanned situations. It is common to encounter angry or combative behaviors from patients or their families. Attributes for success as an Emergency Department Nurse include compassion, humor, good organizational skills, and being a team player. Requested time off during the course of this assignment must be noted. Requests for time off after submission or during interviews will not be approved. No more than five days of requested time off will be accepted.
