Mobile Detailer Job Description

A mobile detailer is responsible for providing on-site automotive cleaning and detailing services, ensuring vehicles are thoroughly cleaned, polished, and protected both inside and out.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations with a fully equipped detailing setup
• Wash, wax, and polish vehicle exteriors
• Clean and vacuum interiors, including carpets, seats, and upholstery
• Shampoo carpets and apply protective coatings when needed
• Clean windows, mirrors, wheels, and tires
• Remove stains, odors, and minor surface imperfections
• Use specialized tools and chemicals safely and effectively
• Inspect vehicles before and after detailing to ensure quality
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and supplies
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate with clients

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of car detailing techniques and products
• Ability to operate buffers, vacuums, steam cleaners, and pressure washers
• Strong attention to detail
• Physical stamina (standing, bending, lifting equipment)
• Valid driver’s license (often required)
• Time management and ability to work independently
• Customer service and communication skills

Work Environment

• Primarily outdoors or at customer locations
• Exposure to various weather conditions
• Flexible hours, including weekends or evenings

Preferred (but not always required)

• Prior experience in auto detailing or car washing
• Knowledge of paint correction or ceramic coatings
• Ability to upsell services
