Pharmacy Managers play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence in their respective pharmacy by acting as a role model, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for their pharmacy team. Responsibilities Live our purpose by helping manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts and strengthen pharmacy performance measures through coaching and follow‑up. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, collaborating with the patient’s healthcare team, and resolving insurance or medication issues. Offer and deliver immunizations, engaging Pharmacy Technicians to learn how to immunize. Manage pharmacy inventory, focusing on protecting cold‑chain products. Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding, ensuring trainees complete required training and licensure on time. Ensure operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating issues as needed. Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues ready to work in the pharmacy. Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, managing performance, delivering annual reviews, and closing gaps. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, writing or delegating the pharmacy schedule. Review business reporting for operational insights and develop action plans to close gaps. Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion; build psychological safety by encouraging feedback. Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, seeking opportunities to expand knowledge. Provide pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services, empowering the pharmacy team to deliver holistic care. Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; comply with CVS Health policies on controlled substances and recordkeeping. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located Active National Provider Identifier (NPI) Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list 1–2 years of experience as a Pharmacist Essential Functions Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe Attention and focus: concentrate, pivot quickly, confirm prescription accuracy Customer Service and Team Orientation: look for ways to help people, respond to patient reactions Communication Skills: verbal and written communication, active listening, asking questions, not interrupting Mathematical Reasoning: solve problems such as determining dosage and supply calculations Problem Resolution: handle challenging interactions and choose best actions Physical Demands: mobile, lift items, reach overhead, work with fingers, carry up to 20 lbs Team Management and Leadership: lead by example, delegate, empower, motivate, coach, enforce standards, adapt to change Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager Preferred Qualifications Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader program 3–5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting Ability to work in the home store and across the market to meet business needs Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range $65.00 – $81.00 per hour This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on experience, education, geography and other factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range.
